Preparing your Junior Chef for serious kitchen work can be a bit tricky. Where do you begin? The answer is simple…a fundamental understanding of proper knife work is the key to successful cooking. Proper knife skills will allow your pint-sized chef to create like-size cuts which will result in more evenly cooked and flavorful food. This class will go in-depth to teach your Junior Chef how to choose the right knife for the task at hand; how to properly grip a knife and knife safety; proper cutlery care; and, of course, how to slice, chop, mince and dice.
When your Junior Chef masters proper knife skills, cooking will become easier and more fun. At the end of class, Junior Chef students will prepare a simple stir fry with everything they practiced on.
